Safe Sport 2026

Safe Sport 2026 exhibition stand

Full-stack conference marketing, brand, website, content, print and live event delivery for an international safe sport conference

Safe Sport 2026 was a major international conference hosted at the University of Cape Town, bringing together global leaders, researchers, safeguarding experts, athletes, policy makers, practitioners and organisations committed to advancing athlete safety through collaboration, research and global leadership.

Across the programme, the conference welcomed voices from across the international sport, safeguarding and integrity landscape, including the IOC, FIFA, CAF, World Rugby, World Athletics, WADA, the International Testing Agency, the African Union Sports Council, SASCOC, the Sport & Rights Alliance, Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, Waves for Change, Safe-Hub Global, the Olympic Refugee Foundation and many others.

Ireland: worked alongside Safe Sport International to support the full marketing, communications, content, brand and digital delivery for the conference — from strategy and campaign planning through to website design and build, content creation, print, digital assets and live social media support throughout the event itself.

The project was a clear example of where Ireland: sits best: between senior marketing strategy and hands-on delivery.

The Challenge

Safe Sport 2026 was a complex international conference with multiple organising partners, supporting organisations, audiences, channels, speakers, sponsors, delegates and digital touchpoints.

The conference needed to reach and engage a global audience while also supporting in-person delegates, online participants, speakers, partners and the wider Safe Sport Community.

It also needed to communicate a serious and sensitive subject matter with clarity, care and credibility.

This was not simply a conference website project, a social media project or a print design project.

It required a joined-up marketing and communications system that could bring together strategy, brand, content, website, digital marketing, print, partner communications and live event coverage into one coherent experience.

The brand could not just sit in a folder.
The strategy could not just sit in a document.
The content plan could not just be a spreadsheet.
The website could not just be a holding page.
And social media could not just be a stream of last-minute updates.

Everything needed to connect.

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Planning

Ireland: developed the marketing strategy and campaign plan for Safe Sport 2026, helping to shape how the conference would be promoted before, during and after the event.

The campaign needed to support several objectives at once, including delegate registrations, online attendance, speaker promotion, partner visibility, sponsor recognition, Safe Sport Community engagement and post-conference legacy.

We developed a campaign structure that allowed the conference to build momentum over time, with content focused on programme themes, keynote speakers, research, practice sessions, partner announcements, awards, online access, logistics and delegate engagement.

This strategic foundation helped ensure that marketing activity was not fragmented across channels, but connected through a clear message and purpose.

Conference Website Design & Build

Ireland: designed and built the Safe Sport 2026 conference website, creating the central digital hub for the event.

The website needed to serve multiple audiences, including in-person delegates, online attendees, speakers, partners, sponsors and organisations considering registration.

It included conference messaging, programme information, speaker details, registration guidance, travel and logistics content, partner visibility, conference updates and access information for online participation.

The website became the anchor point for the wider campaign, giving social, email, partner and community communications a clear destination and ensuring key information was easy to find.

Content Strategy & Campaign Delivery

Ireland: shaped the content strategy and developed the campaign content used to promote Safe Sport 2026 across multiple channels.

This included writing and designing content for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and the Safe Sport Community platform, covering speaker announcements, programme themes, registration prompts, partner updates, awards, research sessions, practice sessions, logistics and conference reflections.

The work involved careful planning, scheduling and tagging across a complex network of speakers, organisations, partners and supporters.

The aim was not simply to keep posting. It was to build a consistent conference narrative, communicate the importance of the event and reflect the credibility of the organisations and people involved.

Brand, Design & Digital Assets

Safe Sport 2026 required a flexible visual identity that could work across web, social media, digital platforms, print, presentations and live event environments.

Ireland: developed and applied the conference branding across a wide range of assets, including social graphics, website visuals, speaker cards, presentation materials, digital backgrounds, PowerPoint templates, shareable graphics and partner-facing content.

The visual system needed to accommodate a complex mix of organising partners, sponsors, supporting organisations and conference themes, while still feeling clear, professional and consistent.

This ensured that the conference had a recognisable identity across every touchpoint.

Print & Physical Conference Materials

Ireland: also designed the print and physical assets required for the live conference environment.

This included banner stands, exhibition stands, delegate name badges and branded conference materials.

For an international event with a high-profile audience and multiple partner organisations, these assets played an important role in creating a professional and consistent delegate experience.

The brand needed to carry from the website and digital campaign into the room, across the venue and throughout the conference.

Live Social Media & Event Support

During the conference itself, Ireland: managed live social media publishing and support across four days of activity.

This included writing, scheduling, publishing and tagging content across multiple channels while the conference was taking place.

Live content covered arrivals, keynote sessions, panel discussions, workshops, awards, partner moments, delegate stories, behind-the-scenes activity and conference reflections.

We also worked with on-the-ground teams from UCT, SSCN and AUSC to support photography and video capture, plan the use of image and video assets, and help ensure content could be turned around quickly while the event was still unfolding.

This required calm coordination, clear briefing and an understanding of how live conference content needs to work both immediately and as part of a longer-term communications strategy.

Why This Matters

Safe Sport 2026 was the result of a huge amount of work from Neal Anderson and the Safe Sport International team, alongside the organising and partner teams across SSCN, AUSC, UCT and the many people who helped bring the conference to life in Cape Town.

Ireland: was fortunate to have played a part.

For us, the project was a privilege to support because of the importance of the work itself: advancing safer systems, safer cultures and safer experiences for everyone in sport.

It was also a clear example of the Ireland: model in action.

Senior marketing thinking.
Practical delivery.
Calm project management.
Website, content, creative, digital, print and live event support working together.

Safe Sport 2026 was complex enough to need proper thinking, collaborative enough to need trust, and important enough to matter.

If Ireland: can assist in delivering your next conference please do get in touch.
